I spent a little time this morning doing a "seawatch" in DC,
waiting for a Neotropic Cormorant to go flying by. My vantage
point was Gravelly Point (actually in VA), and I scanned the
Potomac for all of about a half hour (from 7:00-7:30). During
that time, I saw c.15 Double-crested Cormorants, all flying
downriver, but no signs of anything remotely resembling a
Neotrop. However, as I was driving out I saw about 10 more
headng south but couldn't stop to scope them. So once again
my job gets in the way of quality birding time. I hope to get
out there again, but no idea when that will be.
Good birding,
