Cromwell Valley Park HawkWatch - Saturday, November 12th - 2005

Encouraged by Friday's sighting of a Golden Eagle at CVP, several of us hoped for a good flight
today and were not disappointed. No eagles were seen, but a wonderful buteo passage was
observed. The Redtails were clearly using the lift produced by a light west wind off the ridges,
and many flew directly over our heads. The flight was more of a westerly direction than usual. By
11:30, many migrants were extremely high and hard to see against a clear blue sky. Well honed
observational skills were supplied by Jim (BLUEBIRD) Zeman, who was in town on loan from the
CADILLAC MT.HAWKWATCH in Maine!!!! ha ha..... Thanks Jim.
