Hi Folks

Just a follow-on to Jim Wilson's posting below. Elaine and I just bought
some Nikon Monarch ATB binoculars at Cape May Bird Observatory, but their
Northwood Center next to Lily Lake is closed--they are no longer able to get
staff to operate this facility. However, the facility at Goshen is
thriving, and is located on Hwy 49 about 20 miles northwest of Cape May.
I've always bought my optics at Cape May, because of the ability to compare
dozens of models, the very low price, and the notion that what little profit
they make goes to bird conservation. One does need to get an annual
membership to get the low price, but even with this, the prices are still
very reasonable. I also usally pick up a bunch of books when I'm there,
since they have a great selection.

Also, the Goshen facility has a marvelous hummingbird and butterfly garden,
and is a great place to get ideas for your own garden. They even had a
(Ruby-throated) Hummingbird there when we were there on 6 Nov.
