You know Gene, someone with a scope and super powerful eyes might be able to pick this bird up from the mainland without going out to the island by looking from Rocky Point park or from any available vantage points on Barrison Point Road if the bird was sitting up on the main dike or one of the poles around it. They'd have to get lucky.

On Saturday it was found standing on the shell nesting island in the South Cell; on Thursday, it was located at the North Cell spillway at the northeast-most corner of the island. Hence, the owl could be anywhere on the island at any point in time.

If anyone is interested in spending the day on the the island on Saturday, please e-mail me by Thursday evening so that I can make arrangments on Friday morning for Saturday.
