Norm - Great county-month bird!! I'm jealous. Please try and figure out
which subspecies it is.
First January record for Worcester and combined with the one George and Gwen
had on the November count, these are the first two "winter" records for the
county. Double-check that it is not a partial albino Townsend's. Jim needs
that for a close-out. :)
Also, I don't think you've posted to the Osprey about the Prairie Warbler
you had at your feeder on the day of the Ocean City CBC. Nice feeder list .
FYI, Amy and I are buying a half-interest in a unit at Assateague Pointe, so
we're going to be within feeder-chase range pretty soon! There goes the
neighborhood.
Happy New Year,
Mark

Subject: [MDOSPREY] New yardbird and year bird
Fran and I were sorting through the usual throngs of Brown-headed
Nuthatches, Long-tailed Ducks, Hooded Mergansers, etc., this morning when we
noticed a new bird for our Worcester yard list and, I do believe, a
first-of-the-year sighting for Mike Burchett's 2006 comp list: an
absolutely gorgeous Yellow-throated Warbler has been visiting our suet
feeder all morning (yes, Mark, we took pictures). I noted that the
Yellow-throated Warbler has a dot for this species in early January--Bob
Ringler, do you know when and where that sighting was?
Best to all.
Norm & Fran
