My husband and I saw one Short-eared Owl on Feb. 6 at the approximate  
location described, but across the street from the first (brick) farmhouse and  
further down the road toward the second. We saw it shortly after sunset, on a  
cold and windy evening, and had a lot of good looks as it swept back and forth  
across the field, frequently along a line of brush, and once perching on a  
post.
