Blue Mash Nature Trail, Zion Road Section, Montgomery County, 2 Mar 06,
0730-0900

Despite a sign warning of an up to $500.00 for dumping trash, the parking
lot this morning was decorated with a pile of used tires. Bottles also
littered the side of the road leading to the old landfill entrance. This
kind of stuff burns my butt!

Not too birdy today except for 8 species of waterfowl on the ponds
including: 20-Canada Goose; 1-Wood Duck (male); 10-Mallard; 6-Green-winged
Teal; 14-Ring-necked Duck; 4-Lesser Scaup; 6-Bufflehead; and 1-Common
Merganser (BMT #146). Singing Song Sparrow and Red-winged Blackbird were
harbingers of Spring.
