I have had "Dueling Banjos" running through my head all day thanks to
two flickers that were drumming in the front yard this morning. First
one then the other would drum away, and each had a very resonant dry
limb, so I don't know how they figured the winner, but one flew away
as the other sounded its raucous call.

This was the first year we had no flickers at the suet feeder.
I am glad they're back.

A Carolina Wren was singing in the back yard and I heard what
I think were Chipping Sparrows trilling out by the street.
