Like Jay, I heard a similar, fast buzzy, even tinny, "call" this
morning, about 8:15, on the towpath just yards West from the entry at
the end of Sycamore Landing Road. Not recognizing the call, but also
not having seen Jay's post yet, I waited and then caught movement
toward the top of a tree on the cornfield side of the canal. With a
brief glimpse through binoculars, I'd say there's a good chance it
was the Townsend. The one point of hesitation I had was what
appeared to a yellow at the throat. But the photo here
<http://www.utahbirds.org/birdsofutah/ProfilesS-Z/TownsendsWarbler.htm>
of a Townsend looking away from the viewer gives the same effect,
with the black throat patch barely discernable. It then flew in the
direction of the cornfield, North if the river is running East - West there.
Good birding,
