I was watching 3 deer across the lake, which appeared to be a doe and 2
fawns. However, the coats of the doe and one fawn camoflaged them very
well. The other fawn's coat was very light and bright. That's what caught
my attention. It was quite a distinction between the three.
Right behind my 2nd story deck in a small pine tree, a pair of Blue Jays
have built a nest. Mom is busy sitting on it. Dad hangs around watching.
They don't seem intimidated by my cat who lounges on the deck, but they
seem to get a little concerned when I walk out to the edge to have a look.
