Overall a slow day in the park this morning--there should be a heck of a push whenever these northerly winds finally break. I momentarily thought I had my park-first Hermit Thrush, but it turned out instead to be my park-first OVENBIRD, doing the best he could with the few square yards of "forest floor" that the park has to offer. I doubt he'll stay very long!
Also had a single brown PURPLE FINCH (keeping apart from the large flock of House Finches), and a bit of a rebound in Chipping Sparrow numbers. Yellow-rumps but no Parulas. And the male goldfinches are really looking quite spiffy now.
