Many thanks to John Beetham for posting earlier about the CAPE MAY
WARBLER! Ben Jesup and I were able to re-find it this afternoon in
basically the same spot, a few trees west of the food kiosk at the west end
of the Constitution Gardens lake. He was singing, so we were able to find
him pretty fast, and were treated to some great looks.
We had many (though not all) of the same birds John did, including the
singing Prairie Warbler near the Vietnam Memorial and a Yellow at the WWI
Memorial.
We also added a Ruby-crowned Kinglet (on the ridge near the Vietnam
Memorial), my first Eastern Kingbird of the year (flying over the treetops
along the Reflecting Pool), and a Field Sparrow hanging out with several
Chippings (WWI Memorial).
