I started the three injection series of Lymrix (sp?), had completed two shots
when the vaccine was pulled from the market. Therefore I never had the third
shot. Subsequently, I was infected with Lyme & had a tremendous reaction.
Large, white-hot classic bull's-eye. I had gone to the doctor with an extremely
itchy rash on my leg, they gave me a topical ointment & said I had just had a
reaction to something. Turned out the tick was still there, I could not see it
where it was. The people in the doctor's office had no idea what they were
looking at! It was only a day or two after that that the bull's-eye appeared.
Needless to say, I was not very happy with the doctor.
What I have noticed is that any time I get a tick now, I have an immediate
reaction, which is not a bad thing. I look for a tick & remove it. Gardening
supplies enough ticks to keep me busy. When birding I wear clothing that has been
sprayed with Duranon. 'Nuf said.
