Excellent shorebirding continues at the Flats. This am, David Larkin and I saw:
Lesser Yellowlegs-- 100+
Greater Yellowlegs-- 8-10
Killdeer-- counted 19, probably missed a few
Least Sand-- about 40
Semi-Sand-- 12+
Stilt Sand.-- 10-12
Pectoral-- about 20
Dowitcher sp. (probably Short-billed)-- 1
White-Rumped (probable)-- 1
Baird's-- 1
Semipalm Plover-- 1
Other birds:
Sharpie
Osprey
Swainson's Thrush
Black & White Warbler
Dave and I both had good, reasonably close views of the Baird's. I was able to compare it to Pectoral in the same scope field. The probable White-rumped was seen only by me, and at a distance.
