My neighbor (she had an American woodcock in her yard in the spring-I've got
bird envy) came running out of her house this a.m. and called me in. Out
her window we saw an ovenbird foraging in her side yard.

All,
My all time favorite Ovenbird sighting was way back at least 15 years
ago when I walked thru Hopkins Plaza daily on my walk from to Charles St
Metro to work. I noticed something hopping around in the bushes right next
to me that didn't look like the usual House Sparrow. I walked over and
looked right down on that familiar orange helmet stripe. He glanced up at me
a kept right on foraging.

Today at Hashawa I came onto a band of White-throats, plenty of kinglets
and a few Blueheaded Vireos and Black-throated Blue warblers. I was pishing
in the warblers when a Red-Railed Hawk showed up. First time I've ever
pished in one of those.
