I stopped this morning at the Cambridge Visitor Center (just west of
the Rt. 50 bridge) to check on something. While there I took a
quick scan of the river and noted 47 Surf Scoter, 7 Long-tailed
Duck, and 11 American Wigeon. Aside from the usual flocks of
Mallards, this is the best count of ducks I've had on the Choptank
this fall.

Up until this morning I've only seen one lone Canvasback (2 days
ago) and only a handful of Surf Scoter over the past few weeks.

Later this week I'll spend a morning scanning the Cambridge
shoreline and let you know how the numbers are developing.
