I went to Hooper's Island around 8:00 am this morning and got the
Eurasian Collared Doves at Hoopers Island at 2363 Hooper's Island Road
(the address mentioned originally not the address Bob Ringler
reported). I originally saw only 1 bird on the wire from my sunroof as
I drove underneath it but when I stopped and jumped out, both doves flew
into the yard on the West side of the road. Then I went to Blackwater
NWR. I found a GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GOOSE there and a Cackling Goose.
Both were in the last stretch of the Wildlife Drive before you come out
on Route 335. I counted only 20 AM. WHITE PELICANS in the same general
area. Then I stopped on the way home at Schoolhouse Pond. The ROSS'
GOOSE was not there but I found it (and George Jett who was trying to
get photos) at Merkle Wildlife Sanctuary. There was at least one
Cackling Goose there as well.
