After the rain overnight Sunday to Monday, clearing
skies in the mid-morning were soon followed by a dense
fog in SW FRED CO and points west.  I noticed a flock
of vultures in a field new my home where i had never
noted any previously.  I turned the car around to get
another look.  Everywhere i looked were vultures - in
fields primarily, but also in trees and on an adjacent
barn roof.  I counted 30 before giving up and
estimated that there could easily be 3x that many in
the field alone.  None were feeding - it would have
taken a herd of elephants to feed that crowd...!!!  I
was wondering if they may have launched from points
nearby and, encountering the building fog, had all
grounded for some reason near the same location.  It
was an amazing sight...
