Hi everyone,
Yesterday from about 11 am until 1 pm a friend and I birded the area around
Loch Raven, from "Bridge #1" to the old picnic area, and then on to the Loch
Raven Dam. We saw a total of 26 species - all of which were listed from
previous posts here over the past two days, but the most spectacular was a
mature bald eagle which caught a small fish from the waters just below the
dam. I had never seen one so close - Also saw three ringnecked ducks there,
the mergansers and, further down near the second smaller falls below the dam
we saw a male kingfisher. It was a wonderful day for birding.
Peace,
Eleanor
