Greetings,

Just a drop in to mention a few new arrivals/notable mentions for my home in
North East, Cecil County and my work at the Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG) in
Hafrod County.

Cecil County:
Pileated Woodpeckers are rather visible (more-so than usual), as well, they
are almost constantly within ear-shot. I suppose that they have move their
local nesting area closer to my house? Also I have had Northern Parulas
singing since Sunday. Chippers are very vocal as well and Chimney Swifts
seem to be back in numbers too. Our resident Ospreys have been tending to
their nest further up in our cove. Juncos are still hanging on, though their
numbers are dwindling...

Harford County
Today on Spesutie Island at APG I had the constant song of at least two
Common Yellowthroats as a taught an outdoor safety class. Furthermore I had
two rather resplendent Cattle Egrets fly over head and land in a nearby
field. I must reiterate, these two birds were looking pretty snazzy in their
spring attire. Meadowlarks can be found pretty much anywhere it is quiet
enough to hear them and Field Sparrows and Common Yellowthroats have taken
to their traditional territories near the Phillip's Army Air Field.

Still waiting for the arrival of orioles/vireos/hummers and more warbler
variety in my local haunts, I know they're around... Another week or two I
suppose!

Good Birds, happy spring!
