Hi all --

With Norm's indulgence, a short note from our cruise, now crossing from Petropavlovsk thru Bering Sea towards Attu -- yesterday an excellent day with over 300 Mottled and two Solander's Petrels, 7 Ross's Gulls in full pink plumage, Red-legged Kittiwake, Least, Whiskered and Crested Auklets, and over 250 Long-tailed Jaegers in passage. On board the ship we had Red-throated Pipit and other passerines. However all still in Russian waters! At Petro we had close encounter with two Steller's Sea-eagles.

Next landfall is Dutch Harbor -- we are now in US waters but in fog so not too birdy, hence a pause to send this email.

Cheers, hope that you have all seen the usual rarities whilst we've been away!

Best,
Gail Mackiernan and Barry Cooper
