Canon changed their lens mount in 1987 with their introduction of the EOS 
(autofocus) product line.  So long as you have a Canon lens with an EOS 
mount, you will be fine.  The only problem that I encountered is that my 
third party lenses from Sigma from 10 and 15 years ago do not work with the 
Canon digital bodies, but they do fit, and will work with my film camera 
bodies.
