Mike et al.,

This past spring I heard a White-crowned Sparrow
singing from along the side of the Capitol Crescent
Trail between Bradley Boulevard and Bethesda Avenue.
The site is rather close to the USPS building that
your sparrow flew toward. I believe I posted on
MDOsprey about it (most likely in April or May).

Not apocalyptic by any means but . . .

I heard and then saw a young White-crowned Sparrow
today in the
central business area of Bethesda, Montgomery County,
at about 10:30 a.m.

The bird was sitting with House Sparrows on a
chain-link fence that
separates the Bradley Shopping Center on Arlington Rd.
from the
premises of Euro Motorcars. It flew across Arlington
Road to the
USPS annex and then disappeared.

I've lived in the Bethesda area for almost 40 years
and this is only
the third White-crowned I have ever seen around here.
