I watched the Short-eared Owl for about 2-3 minutes this afternoon about 
4:10 pm. Enough time to watch both thru binos and at 20X thru scope.  It 
flew back and forth almost at top of landfill directly across and up the 
hill from the pond. A lifer for me!

Bonus birds along path to Big Pond included Purple Finch and Am Tree 
Sparrow.  Two Northern Shovelers were in the pond.
