Nico, et al.:
The MD/DC Records Committee database is on-line. The MD database is here ...
http://www.mdbirds.org/mddcrc/pdf/mddatabase.pdf
... this is a large PDF document ... don't print it! You can do a
search or find for species of interest.
However ...
Dovekies are only reviewable (and, hence, in our database) if seen
inland. We do not track birds seen on pelagic trips.
Eared Grebes were taken off the review list many years ago, so what
is in the our database is only up to that point.
White-winged Crossbills were historically not reviewable in MD, but
years ago there had been such a long stretch without any so the
committee added them to the review list year ... the next year was an
invasion (Murphy's Law!), so we took them back off the list. So, the
on-line database is not too meaningful for this species.
Painting Bunting has always been a MD reviewable species so the
on-line database should be accurate, except that the current on-line
database has not been updated to include the Annapolis bird.
Bob Ringler keeps a database of all sightings, including the
non-reviewable ones. Many he can provide some additional info?
BTW, "Unreviewable" in the database means the sighting was published
but little or no documentation was available for a committee review.
"Reviewable" means that documentation may or may not exist (but probably not).
Hope this helps ...
