I birded Perryville Park from about 10:30 am until noon and did not see
the Eurasian Wigeon. However, I did get most of the birds previously
recorded.

While searching for th Wigeon, I saw Great black-blacked Gulls (4) diving
on the Coots trying to catch them. I know the Bald Eagles prey on the
Coots, but have never heard of the gulls doing this. I moved several
times, but cough up with the Coots in Mill Creek and noticed the four
gulls had separated a Coot from the flock. The Coot would fluff up and
behave aggressively towards th gull even chasing them away, but the
gulls were persistent. Time and time again they'd break off their
attack, than come back. After many tries one of the immature of the
GBBGs finally maneged to grab the Coot by the neck and would shake it
like a dog shakes pray to break its neck. The Coot was persistent and
even fought back after it had been grabbed. It took about 20 minutes
for the gulls to harass and finally kill the Coot. The gull that
finally subdued the Coot kept possession of it and appeared to be
plucking when I left.
