Hi All,
I also observed this same behavior here in my yard yesterday. I stepped
outside my shop sometime in mid-afternoon when I saw a crow ready to swoop in
and land on my big wooden Chalet -type feeder, but it was closely pursued by a
beautiful male Baltimore Oriole, who chased it away. We've had perhaps 3
different pairs of orioles around lately, singing all through the day. Wonderful
to hear!

And another interesting "shop" bird sighting; 2 days ago I was in my shop,
and glanced out the one window which is almost never uncovered (but has been
lately) to spy an adult Red-shouldered Hawk flying up the yard and over the
roof, clutching a snake! The same day I had an adult Bald Eagle flying over,
heading against the wind and later a Northern Harrier flew by.
