This morning, like the last several, had a few nice birds at Ft. Bayard despite breezy conditions. A singing BLACKBURNIAN WARBLER was present for the third day in a row, but unlike the consistent song of the previous two mornings, the song today was variable and not always "standard" (with some versions that sounded more like a Parula). Quite possibly a different bird, which would be consistent with the apparent turnover of some of the other birds in the park. The Chestnut-sided of the past few days was gone, replaced by a Magnolia. Unaffected by this are the Waxwings, which have been consistently present of late.
A new arrival was a non-singing WARBLING VIREO, a species that generally seems to appear once each spring in the park (but usually earlier).
