This morning, Friday, we just added a yard bird that we thought we would never see in Bethesda in the near D.C. suburbs.  As we lay in bed early this morning we heard a familiar but unexpected sound -- a Common Raven calling.  Going out the front door to pick up the Washington Post, I heard one called right across the street.  Two birds were perched on the house directly across from us.

I'm guessing these birds are from the nesting reported by Clive Harris in Cabin John which is west of us.

Quite a thrill!!
