Hi all --

Barry and I were on the 8-19 trip as well -- many thanks to Jim Green for organizing this and the Corps of Engineers/MD Environmental Services for being such great hosts! What a civilized way to see this great shorebird habitat (AC buses). Our final shorebird species total far exceeded our recent Delaware Bay excursion so very pleased to do it in Maryland!

Added to Danny's list:

Western Sandpiper - 2-3
Long-billed Dowitcher - 1
Greater Yellowlegs -- several
Pectoral Sandpiper -- 6
White-rumped Sandpiper - 1

The greatest number of shorebirds were in impoundment 6 but the greatest diversity in 5 (forget whether 5A or B) -- these are on the south end of the island so anyone going on another trip might want to spend most time in this area. We actually ran out of time at 5 and there may well have been other species (everyone looked hard for a Baird's or any phalarope but no luck).

I was especially happy with the Hudwit since this has been a "blocker" in Maryland for me for years!
