I decided to take a quick trip over to the freshly mowed trails at
Greenbury Point in Annapolis this afternoon. The warblers were
abundant, so my trip went from a 'quick' one to a two-hour
extravaganza. The best bird was a MERLIN (as the subject mentioned)
flying over towards Annapolis. While I was pishing away to a flock of
Cardinals, Chickadees, American Redstarts and one unidentifiable
Flycatcher, a Cooper's Hawk literally crashed the party. It blasted
through the trees that surrounded me, but appeared to have left
without any dinner. I would've felt odd serving up such an easy feast
of Redstart tonight.

Upon my return home, I added RT Hummingbird and Chimney Swift to my
afternoon list. Not a bad 'quick' trip this evening.
Good Birding,
