Thanks to many readers that have spurred on this insight into
the plight of the bobwhite.
   I am not against hunting - maybe they need to also come into
the fold - that there is something wrong with the regulations of the
State of MD that would even propose an open season on quail.
   But, sadly, with all of the concern - other than Sam Droege,
not one DNR rep has responded to the cause of this drastic decline.
Sam notes that it is about 5.5% EVERY YEAR!  
   Lastly, game farms have always been a legiitimate and valuable
source for many hunters.  Does the average birder have any idea
of the amount of money they spend every year to enjoy their sport?
   Again, its not against hunting - its the politics concern trying to
find out what is happening to our bird populations.
