Thanks to Steve Sanford for posting! Here are the directions to the Reeve. If you all know the way to the Great Oak Pond, from there head back east on Handy Point Rd, pass Fish Hatchery Rd, then you'll see a dirt field recently plowed south of Handy Point Rd before headed to intersection of Rt 298 (Fairlee Rd), Rt 514 (Melitota Rd) and Handy Rd at southwest side of the intersection. When we got to Handy Point Rd at 410pm looking at a couple of Horned Larks, we were ready to move out at 415pm when I noticed a large shorebird was about to land, it show U-shape white rump, black band tail, white underwing; after landing on the ground, we can see buffy breast (no streaking), really nice dark scaly back, large with small head, small dark bill, light colored legs. After scanning thru binoculars, John had his new scope set up and it vanish behind the hills. Was told it was a lifer for John.

Looks to me to be a immature Reeve (female version of Ruff) in fall plumage. I remember there is a Reeve or a immature Reeve along Rt 50 in Dorchester Co in mid or late Oct 2005. Will post full report later.
