Saturday morning the Elkhorn Garden Plots were active with newly arrived juncos and Ruby-crowned Kinglets, an Eastern Phoebe, several Palm Warblers, an Indigo Bunting, and Savannah, White-crowned and Lincoln's Sparrows.
Today (10/19) the garden plots seemed quieter, but there were lots of birds along the path north of Lake Elkhorn heading towards Oakland Mills Road, There were large flocks of White-throated Sparrows and Yellow-rumped Warblers with smaller groups of Field, Chipping, and Swamp Sparrows, There were also a yellow Palm, a Magnolia Warbler and a Hermit Thrush. It was nice to meet several birders over the two days as well.
