The warm days have certainly brought the blue birds out which I am leaving
meal worms for already. I have had grackles, red-wing black birds, European
starlings and brown-headed cowbirds for several weeks now. I like George am
having numbers around 1000 a day, they sure do clean out the flat and
hanging feeders. The hawks have been working over the birds in my yard
pretty good too. I have had sharp shinn's, red tailed and cooper hawks
lately.
I also got to photograph two belted king fisher's (male and female - she
caught 2 small fish and ate them), a Northern pintail (male), male and
female hooded merganser's, an American black duck, mallards, Canada goose
and a goose that was a mystery to me at a St Mary's County pond. I turned
to a couple experts and found out my mystery goose is a hybrid Egyptian
goose probably mixed with a Canada goose. I am so thankful for those out
there with more birding knowledge than myself to help me when I can't locate
mystery birds in my many Birding Guides. Well that's my two cents for
today. Happy Birding to all and thanks Phil, my goose looks nearly
identical to the one on the website.

And Blue Birds are on territory as well. I am getting around 1000 Grackles
a day. These marauders are with some Red-wings and Brown-headed Cowbirds
are mixed in.
