Hi Folks,

I birded in Harford, Cecil and Caroline counties yesterday and some in AA
and Balt. today, and wanted to mention a few birds:

SATURDAY, 28 MARCH:

    Lakeside Business Park, Harford Co.:

TRUMPETER SWAN--just one today; I drove all the way around the lake to get a
good vantage point to make sure it wasn't a Tundra
Ring-necked Duck--1
Am. Coot--1

Lapidum, Harford Co., where I met (and joined for a while) Dennis
Kirkwood leading a bird walk

Wood Duck--2
Black Duck--2
GW Teal--20 on Harford shoreline; seemed like a strange place for them
Common Merg--2 (dozens more at Rock Run)
Pied-billed Grebe--2
Horned Grebe--5 near boat dock; 3 later found across river; seldom seen here
per Dennis K, and a first for me
Red-necked Grebe--2 close to boat launch on Harford side; 2 different birds
near Port Deposit on Cecil side
LITTLE GULL--1, first seen among Bonies on Cecil side, but as the flock
moved upstream they moved to center of river near the island, in Harford Co.

    Tydings Marina, Harford Co.:

Am. Coot--250
Pine Siskin--1 (thanks to Tom Gibson for the heads up on siskins here)

    Harve de Grace:

COMMON RAVEN--1, flew over on Harford side of US 40 bridge
Pine Warbler--1 singing near hospital

    Perryville Comm. Park, Cecil Co.:

Gadwall--5
PB Grebe--3
Osprey--1
Am. Coot--300
Tree Swallow--12

    Northeast Town Park

Tree Swallow--50

    Bethel WMA, Cecil Co.:

Am. Wigeon--6
N. Shoveler--2 males
Ring-necked Duck--22
PB Grebe--3
Am. Coot--25
Tree Swallow--30

Sammond's Pond on Old Telegraph Rd., Cecil Co. (some of these birds
might have been in Delaware):

Gadwall--36
Am. Wigeon--28
Green-winged Teal--2
Great Egret--1

    Jackson Lane Wetland, Caroline Co.:

Wood Duck--4
Barred Owl--1
E. Phoebe--1
Swamp Sparrow--15

    Denton WWTP:

N. Shoveler--1 m
Ring-necked Duck--15
Tree Swallow--25
NRW Swallow--3

Tanyard Marsh, Caroline Co. (fairly flooded following the rain):

Green-winged Teal--6
N. Harrier--1
W. Snipe--1

SUNDAY, 29 MARCH:

    Hwy 450 Bridge, Annapolis:

Red-throated Loon--1

    Patapsco Pond #6, AA Co.:

Great Egret--1

Back River (Hwy 150 bridge), Balt. Co.:

BLACK-HEADED GULL--1, found shortly after Joel Martin left; sitting on
water, scoped under the bridge to north; nice size comparison with nearby
Bonies and RB Gull

Fort Smallwood Park, AA Co where Sue was still running hawk watch:

Horned Grebe--30 counted on the bay
prob. Snowy Egret--small white egret seen flying away; almost certainly a
snowy
Merlin--1
DUNLIN--1, good bird for this place. Dan Haas and Chris Murray were also
able to enjoy it. Thanks to Matt Grey for giving me the call.
