Yesterday at Little Bennett I saw relatively little, even after running
into and birding with Joe Sedrask (sp?) and Tom Dunn. My best bird was
a Fox Sparrow; Tom saw a singing(?) Blue-gray Gnatcatcher before we met,
but we couldn't relocate it later.
Today I decided to do the same route again, just to see the effect of
the wind yesterday. I saw not only more species, but also more
individual birds, who were singing a lot more than yesterday. Didn't
relocate the Fox Sparrow, or the gnatcatcher, but did hear my FoY
Louisiana Waterthrush, near the old schoolhouse, singing rather poorly
compared with what I've heard in previous years.
