Observed while on my walk around West Annapolis this morning:

Winter Wren (singing)
House Wren (singing further along the old railroad bed)
Red-bellied Woodpecker nesting in the tree across the street.

Since I forgot to mention this a while back, I'll post these tidbits here:
At the same location where the wrens were singing this AM, my dog and
I watched an Osprey fly with some speed into a Tulip Poplar tree. If
grabbed a limb, the limb bent, then whipped the bird back and out of
the tree. The Osprey was aloft again, gaining speed. Turning around,
the fish hawk did the same thing to another branch. The sizable limb
bent, this time snapping. The bird held on and took it off to it's
new home (no doubt being built in the critical area without permits).
And even though birds gathering nesting material is nothing new, the
dog and I agreed that watching the osprey was entertaining.

Good Birding,
