I had a solid morning of birding on Eastern Neck NWR on Sat the 2nd. I spent most of the four hours I was there on Boxes point trail, but also birded road edges and other trails around the refuge. Overall number of individuals seemed low but diversity was good, I ended up with 83 species including 16 species of warblers. Warblers listed below.

Praire Warbler-2
Yellow-breasted Chat-1
Myrtle Warbler-33
Yellow-palm Warbler-1
Pine Warbler-9
Common yellow-throat-many
Yellow Warbler-9
Northern Parula-3
Blackburian Warbler-1
Black and White Warbler-4
Northern Waterthrush-1
Yellow-throated Warbler-2
Black-throated Blue Warbler-1
Black-throated Green Warbler-1
Chestnut-sided Warbler-1
Ovenbird-1

Maren Gimpel and I tried for rails last Thursday the 28th of April along Elliot Island road from 1000-1200. We didn't have much luck, only hearing one Clapper and one Sora. Other birds hear were; 4 Marsh Wrens, 3 Seaside Sparrows, 1 Greater  Yellowlegs and a few Least Sandpipers. Perhaps the cooler temps and 15+mph SE wind had something to do with it?
