Subject: Poplar Island Sightings from May 28, 2009

This report is submitted on behalf of Jan Reese of Talbot County, who
continues to periodically survey the flora and fauna of the Paul Sarbanes
Ecosystem Restoration Project at Poplar Island.
Some of the birds were seen from the boat during the trip from
Tilghman Island and back.
Note particularly the presence of two rail species, Ruddy
Turnstones, Red Knots, White-rumped Sandpipers, Red-necked Phalaropes and
Bank Swallows, and the large numbers of Mallards and Semipalmates
Sandpipers.

Weather: Fog and Overcast, am, some broken overcast pm, Temp:
