For those of you who are still hoping that the Catch 54 bird will head a wee bit further south, keep your hopes up!

We just received a call from Sam Dyke of Salisbury that he was at Fowler's Beach looking at a Roseate Spoonbill that he was certain was not the same bird as he saw at Fenwick, as it was more rose colored.

This was about 5 minutes after we had a call from Sue Gruver at Fenwick, Catch 54, that she, along with Liz and Lew Dumont, were looking at the Roseate Spoonbill down there.

So clearly there are TWO Roseate Spoonbills in Delaware. Time of calls - 11:25 and 11:30 on July 8, 2009.

The bird at Fowler's was on the north side of the road about 150 yards before the end, in an area frequented by Snowy Egrets.

Concerning original observations of the Fowler bird, it was first seen by Matt Bailey about 2 pm on July 6, 2009. A few minutes later he pointed it out to David Weber, who later told Sally and me, and we along with Ed Sigda saw the bird shortly after 4:30 pm on the same day.
