FYI ... the first two Roseate Spoonbill records from Maryland, both 
accepted, were as follows:

MD/1983-001
04/14/1979 - 09/19/1979
Smith Island, Somerset County
One bird.
Baugh, Donald R. 1979. Roseate Spoonbill - accidental visitor to 
Smith Island. Maryland Birdlife 35(3):67-68.

MD/1997-455
07/11/1996 - 08/23/1996
Smith Island, Somerset County
One immature.

So, besides Smith Island, does anyone else want to suggest where 
would be good places to check for spoonbills?
