Jenny,
When we lived in Ashton, we were in a townhouse, and one evening (I think
on Fathers Day) I came home after dark, and was walking the dog about 10 PM,
when a Barred Owl flew in from somewhere across the street, and landed on
a gutter of the townhouse behind ours! This was mostly open/farm type
areas, at the intersection (or near) of Rt. 650 and Rt. 108. So, I think they
are pretty adaptable, as far as owls go...

P.S. It stayed on the gutter long enough for me to run back in and fetch a
flashlight.

Is it normal for Barred Owls to call from suburban areas like this? I
certainly do love to listen to him!

Just curious,
