I looked at the lake at Piney Run Park this afternoon between 3 and 4 with Bill Ellis. Stan Arnold was across the lake and Joe Hanfman was there earlier. We agree that it was two Surf Scoters, a stunning adult male and a female, also seen in flight. They were still tucked in at the center of the lake when we left. Also seen were four Wood Ducks flying over and the two Red-headed Woodpeckers that have been stashing acorns for the past month and are still hard at work.
