Marty Cribb just left a message on our home machine, asking me to post this message. He relocated the female Common Eider at Point Lookout around 3:45 p.m. today, 12/3/09. He said the lighting was good on the bird, which was feeding with a mixed flock of scoters, Buffleheads, and Common Goldeneyes, about 25-30 yards out. The bird was at the south end of the jetty down by the point. A female Common Eider, presumably the same bird, was reported from Point Lookout on Saturday.
Marty also said all three scoters types were present today.
