Hi Everyone,

I spent a few hours birding in AA County today. I started at Thomas Point, and was able to refind one WW Scoter among the Surf Scoter flock. No luck in finding the Purple Sandpipers. Other nice birds seen there were 10-12 Red-throated Loons, some were on the water nearby. There were several Gannetts flying around and plunge diving. Driving away from the point I ran into Joanne Howl and a gentleman whose name I did not catch. We had a Screech Owl and a Merlin while going through a mixed flock of birds.

Joanne gave me direction to Shady Oak road, in the southern area of the county, where I found a flock of 20 or so Horned Larks (Closeout 111). Great morning to be out birding.
