My photographic plans for this morning bit the dust when one of my cats
emptied her bladder on my camera bag. Luckily the bag was zipped closed,
but some urine seeped in and got on the camera and two lenses. The
optical surfaces themselves seem OK but I had to clean the flanges,
gaskets, and electrical contacts where the lenses join the camera. And
wipe off the outsides of the camera and lenses, of course.

Any suggestions for how to remove any sticky residue and get the smell
out? There are special cleaning solvents that get urine odors out of
carpet, but I can't just spray that stuff on the camera. Please reply
off-list.

Thanks,
June

P.S. I tested the camera and lenses - they still work as far as I can
tell. We won't discuss the fate of the cat right now.
