Hello,

Visited the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center in Edgewater this afternoon. While the Rhode River is almost completely frozen, we did note the following species: 6 Tundra Swans (on the ice), 1 Bald Eagle, 2 Red-shouldered Hawks, 1 Red-tail Hawk, 2 Pileated Woodpeckers, 1 Hairy Woodpecker, several Flickers, Red-bellieds, and Downies, 1 Hermit Thrush, and a couple Yellow-rumped Warblers. The feeders at the Ed. Center had ~ 15 White-throated Sparrows, several D.E. Juncos, Cardinals, Chickadees, Titmice, and a White-breasted Nuthatch.

Additionally, for the last three days I have had one (today I had two) Field Sparrows coming to my feeders in Eastport. A new and somewhat unexpected yardbird. Nothing else unusual and no Tree Sparrows yet.

Good Birding,
