In desperate need of getting out somewhere - anywhere - we decided to go
verify some sightings in N.Carroll & Frederick Counties. We did a good job -
a KESTREL, several HORNED LARKS, one of which was singing (must be their
breeding season out there), WHITE-CROWNED SPARROWS, WHITE-THROATED SPARROWS,
one SAVANNAH SPARROW, a FOX SPARROW (nicely colored) and most important -
the MEADOWLARK Laura wanted. She likes them a lot. I still prefer Bobolinks,
but they're still down in south America somewhere. Thanks to Jim Wilkinson
for the post.

And just a comment about the lovely(?) winter we are having:
This is how glacial periods get started. One nasty winter is all it takes.
Trust me, I've been thru several of them now and I've seen it all before.
Laugh if you will, but you will all believe me when several million
Canadians start knocking on your door looking for a place to stay.

Hopefully out of the glacial zone in Carroll County
