My Yellow-throated Warbler here for the fifth winter seems to have departed on St. Patrick's Day. It arrived on Dec. 15. It survived the snows with bountiful mealworms put out on the window ledge when feeders were snowed in. Also ate other fat filled foods-black oil sunflowers, peanuts, suet, as well as the worms-even the freeze dried ones. He began singing song fragments Mar. 12 and then full songs a.m. of Mar. 17th. Guess decided would never get a mate in our yard and has taken off for who knows where, hopefully to return a 6th winter!
